Essential Roots LLC is a 100% plant-based catering company founded by Chef Radisha Rowe. The company was established out of her passion for the kitchen, but after being diagnosed with Endometriosis. Her new found diet of eliminating certain foods that elicited her endometriosis and continued plant-based journey sparked her vision of Essential Roots.

When Radisha came to me, she had a brilliant story and drive behind her inception for Essential Roots. I worked collaboratively to provide her with a memorable logo, visual identity and website that reflected her story, natural process, equipping her to grow, and grow well, long-term.

BRAND IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT

Through the brand development work, I identified that Essential Roots has a strong and impactful message and needed a visual identity that would represent the passion and purpose behind it.

The logo showcases the core of Essential Roots - plant-based foods, created with many contrasting colors, shapes and consistency but still keeping it’s natural and clean essence–a clear representation of the type of food.

Along with building a new visual identity brand system – the website brings Essential Roots to life, following the brand style as a highly-functional, simple site with intuitive navigation, and an online ordering and meal-prep option. I focused on using the primary color – red, used most frequently in the “R” logo mark, as an accent color accompanied by light grays, black and white, bold typography against natural but detailed treated food photography and simple iconography.
